Finding Bass.
Rocky Beaches.
Rocky shores that are submerged during high tide and revealed at low tide create excellent spots for bass fishing. Large rocks, crevices, and deep pools offer excellent shelter for smaller fish, which bass prey upon. They often patrol these waters or remain still, waiting to ambush the small fish as the water currents ebb and flow.
Rocky Headlands.
Rocky headlands create deep waters. As the tide ebbs and flows, it navigates around and over rocks and kelp beds, generating strong currents that ensnare sand eels, small fish, and mackerel, leaving them trapped and disoriented. Bass conceal themselves behind these rocks and within the kelp beds, ambushing the fish caught in the currents.
Sandy Beaches.
Sandy shores, where the waves crash as the tide ebbs and flows, stir the sand and ensnare sand eels and various small fish. They become disoriented amidst the surf, while bass monitor these regions and ambush any available prey.
Estuaries.
Estuaries offer numerous spots to catch bass; as the tide rises and falls, it alternately unveils and covers mud flats, rocky areas overgrown with weeds, gullies, boulders, floating vegetation, and remnants of old boats. Schools of baitfish and sand eels arrive with the rising tide, followed by the emergence of worms and crabs, all of which serve as food for the bass.

Harbours & Marinas.
Harbours & Marinas offer numerous locations for bass fishing. These areas provide boats, moorings, jetties, pillars, and many other underwater structures like weed beds and rocks. Small fish and sand eels can be found swimming around these spots, while crabs and worms inhabit the region, creating an excellent habitat for bass to feed.
Other Locations.
Bass prefer structures where they can conceal themselves, allowing them to wait and launch ambushes on their prey. Ideal spots include weed-covered rocks in estuaries, bridge pillars, the remains of old wooden boats, muddy channels, and beds of bladder wrack weed. These environments offer a variety of food sources for bass, making them perfect hunting and feeding grounds.
