How to Rig up the Bombarda.

Recently, I have started to learn the Bombarda Method and use it to catch bass. I will show you what you need and how simple it is to put it all together.

The easiest way is, if you are new to the method, to get the complete kit all pre-made here. All you need to do is attach the bombarda to your line and attach a lure on the other end.

However, if you're like me and already have some items or want to make them yourself, here is what you need: (Image above Left) a Bombarda anti-tangle float, sinking 15 or 20g. You can get these pre-made here. Redgills of your choice, color/size, these are 90mm here. Choice of fluorocarbon, I am using a thicker one, 20lb, as it helps straighten out when casting. And a pair of scissors or snips. Also, some lure clips; I'm using the BKK lure clips size 1.

To start with ( Image above Right) cut at least 7 feet of fluorocarbon, this will give a good distance behind the bombarda for your lure. Then attach your lure clip to one end of the flurocarbon.

Now we have a completed Bombarda with an attached trace with Redgill (Image above left); all we need to do is attach it to your mainline. Preferably, have a link clip on the end of your mainline for quick attachment and detachment for other lures.

Another tip (Image above Right) is to have a little rig wallet with a selection of ready-made traces with different colors and sizes of Redgills, with a lure clip on, so you can switch over to another one quickly.

We can then (Image above Left) attach the redgill by threading the fluorocarbon through the body, attaching the fluorocarbon to one of the supplied hooks, and then pulling the fluorocarbon back through, pulling the hook back into the redgill.

We can then attach the lure clip (Image above Right) onto the swivel on one end of the Bombarda; this will help with line twist when fishing.
