Rigging Soft Shads with Fluorescent Tubes.

Recently i rigged up some J Shads from Bass Lures UK with the foil inserts inside, Matt liked what i done so he linked that page on my website, to his product page. He asked if i would do the same for these 4.5” Soft J Shad Style Bass Lure Sets 125mm, so i said yes. They come in packs of 5 in size 125mm with a 5/0 5g twist lock hook, also these come instead with a Fluorescent Tube inside them.

They are slightly different to the Foil ones as they do not have the hook slot on the back, they do have a hole in the bottom which i do not use..

What you will need, Shads, Twist Lock Hooks of your choice, and a needle smaller in diameter that your hook. (see image below)

Then slowly push your needle from the top center line down through, gently past the Fluorescent tube and through the center bottom line. (see image below).

Again start off by taking your shad and screwing in the twist lock into the head of your shad, again de-barbing the hook with also reduce damage to the foil, anglers choice, this time on the back of the shad, there is no hook slot, so lay your hook beside your shad and roughly take a measurement on the top bend of the hook. (see image below).

Once the needle is through, you can then gently slide your hook along the needle as a guide, you will need to push harder with these as they are more firmer Shads. Once your hook is through you can remove your needle and press your hook flush to the shad, working well as a weedless lure. (see image below).

As before if you get a mixed set of these shad's, is to get some extra smart twist locks and rig all of them, then you haven't got to keep changing hooks on any until the are worn out. This will stop them from getting damaged

If you would like to check out these 4.5” Soft J Shad Style Bass Lure Sets 125mm, they are on the Bass Lures UK here website along with the twist locks and they also have a fantastic range of lures for bass.
